Carl Zimmerman, Managing Partner

Carl has been employed in Senior Communities continuously for nearly 30 years and proudly working for the same company his entire career.
He is a Certified Nursing Facility Administrator as well as a Certified Assisted Living Center Administrator. He has degrees in Institutional Management, Health Care Administration as well as nutrition and is a licensed Insurance Producer. 

Amy Malkin, Chief Operating Officer 

Amy Malkin has been in the senior living industry since 1989, starting her career in a sister facility of Santa Rita that was located in Glendale, Arizona. She has a strong dietary and nutrition background, but has learned many other things along the way. Amy currently serves on the as the Region 2 Representative for the Arizona Health Care Association’s Board of Directors.  Amy is married and has 3 children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. 

Jennifer Hernandez, Executive Director

Jennifer is the Executive Director at Arroyo Gardens.     Jennifer has worked in senior care for over 20 years.  All 20 of those years with Pioneer Health.   Jennifer is the Co-Chair for the Southern Arizona Activities Professional’s Chapter. She is a certified activity professional.  Jennifer was recently chosen to participate in the Arizona Health Care Association’s Executive Leadership Program. Jennifer resides in Sahuarita, where she has 4 beautiful children that occupy her time away from work. 

Ericka Michel LPN, Wellness Nurse

Ericka comes to us with many years of experience in the post acute setting. She is passionate about healthy living, education, and caring for others, but improving the lives of her patients, is at the core of why she became a nurse. Her long term career plans include furthering her education in nursing. Ericka is a proud mother of 3. In her free time she loves to spend time with her husband, children and 2 dogs. Together they enjoy going on adventures and traveling around the world. 

Mayra Haro, Environmental Services Coordinator

Mayra Haro has enjoyed working at Santa Rita Nursing and Rehabilitation since 2011. She is married and the proud mother of three daughters who she spends her free time with.

Micaela Patterson, Life Enrichment Coordinator

Micaela is our Life Enrichment Coordinator 

     Gabriel Hernandez

Gabriel Hernandez is our Community Liaison.   Gabriel grew up in Sahuarita, so knows the community well.  Gabriel enjoys traveling with his family and playing soccer.   Gabriel can be reached for a tour at (520) 625-7737.
